Workers that work with plumbing fixtures such as boilermakers, plumbers and pipefitters are referred to as tradesmen. In the first world countries, plumbing infrastructure forms an important part of public health and sanitation.

The piping system is a network of interconnected pipes that help deliver fluids or gases from one location to the other.
